v0.2.5
May 2, 2026Reasoning quality pass for the agent, plus two new mechanics reference modules. No new features, no breaking changes. Auto-update from v0.2.4 will deliver this on its own.
Improvements
- No more manufactured "free upgrade" recommendations. The agent used to occasionally test something speculative, see it come back as "0% DPS change, 0% EHP change", and surface that as a free upgrade. It can't anymore — before recommending any change as costless, it now has to name a real build constraint the change addresses (a tight attribute, a missing socket, a sustain breach), and read the gem's own description for non-DPS scaling stats PoB doesn't measure (travel distance on Frostblink, cooldown on movement skills, trigger threshold on CWDT, charge generation rate on Blood Rage). If the test was speculative and there's no real benefit to anchor it to, the recommendation gets dropped.
- Conditional bonuses are no longer presented at peak. PoB measures stats with the relevant buff treated as ACTIVE — Steelskin up, Diamond Flask up, max charges held, Fortify up, "while moving" / "recently killed" conditions met. In actual play, these effects have uptime well below 100%. Recommendations whose headline number depends on a conditional buff now get discounted by realistic uptime, or paired with the enabler. Example: "Immortal Call shows +34.5% EHP, but that's only while the guard buff is active. Without automation, uptime is 30-50% and the real continuous EHP gain is +10-17%. With Automation Support or CWDT, uptime reaches 70% and the real gain is +24%."
- Better mechanics reference for crit and charge builds. Two new reference modules get loaded automatically when the build profile triggers them. Crit-fundamentals covers crit chance/multi scaling, key interactions (Diamond Flask, Power Charges, Precision, Assassin's Mark, Perfect Agony), and anti-synergies (Resolute Technique, low-base-crit weapons). Charges covers per-charge bonuses, generation reliability (kill-only generators drop to zero against bosses), max-charge sources, and ascendancy synergies.
- Guard skill recommendations now factor uptime. The guard-skill module always loads when guards are present and now opens with concrete uptime ranges (manual ~30-50%, Automation Support ~70%, CWDT ~50-70% but threshold-gated). A swap from Steelskin to Immortal Call no longer gets shown as "+34.5% EHP" without context — it shows the real continuous-play gain.
- Hero rewrite on the website. The landing page now leads with "Theorycrafting, made accessible." with "Use Path of Building without learning it first." as the subhead. Broader framing leads, the concrete mechanism follows.
